Microsoft confirmed a few hours ago (Tuesday) that it intends to acquire the world's largest video game developer and distributor, Activision-Blizzard, for about $ 70 billion in cash.
This is no less than a huge earthquake in the gaming industry, and it has tremendous consequences.
For those who are less up to date in the field, we will mention that Microsoft is the developer of the Xbox gaming console.
Activision-Blizzard, on the other hand, is responsible for super-brands in the field of gaming such as Cole of Duty, Warcraft, Diablo, Crash Benedict, Destiny, Overwatch and many more.

But despite the American super-distributor's impressive resume, the surprising move comes at a time of the most terrible period in its history.
In recent months, Activision-Blizzard has been rocked by allegations of a widespread culture of sexual harassment and gender discrimination in its corridors, allegations of workers' strikes and demands to get rid of its controversial CEO, Bobby Kotik, who apparently turned a blind eye to the wrong effects. Large ones in the company structure were certainly to be expected, very few imagined that the company would be sold.

From Microsoft's point of view, this is a very impressive deal, as the big advantage of the Xbox is its sparse exclusive gaming offering, compared to the PlayStation's exclusive titles catalog.
Will Cole of Duty, Diablo & Co. become exclusive Xbox brands?
Days will come, but it certainly seems to be the direction, and because of this it can be said that Sony is the big loser of this deal, whose full details have not yet been revealed.
