Two weeks after the January 9 attack on LREM MP Stéphane Claireaux outside his home in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, another majority parliamentarian was targeted in Perpignan during a demonstration against the vaccine pass.
LREM deputy Romain Grau, as well as a parliamentary adviser to the Minister of Justice and one of his neighbors, were "violently" attacked on Saturday in Perpignan by demonstrators against the vaccine pass who "attacked" his office.
"I was working with Guillem Gervilla, parliamentary adviser to Éric Dupond-Moretti, when all of a sudden we heard a horde of people heading towards the office and then banging on the windows," said Mr. Grau, estimating their number over 250.
Insults and violence
“We went out to talk to them and there we were attacked very violently.
They clearly wanted to crack us up with some pretty heavy insults,” he added.
“One of my neighbors intervened and got slapped.
I received a punch on the chin, ”said the deputy who expressed his desire to file a complaint on Sunday.
"We finally managed to sneak upstairs and they dispersed after breaking a window," he said.
