Insurance, IVASS reports irregular websites

The reports by the Institute for the Supervision of Insurance of irregular insurance policies proposed online continue.

In particular, IVASS issued a press release indicating the distribution of irregular insurance policies through a series of websites, whose policies, received from customers, were found to be false and the related vehicles not insured.

IVASS recommends taking appropriate precautions when evaluating insurance offers via the internet or telephone (also via WhatsApp), especially if relating to policies of temporary duration.


    Among the latest internet sites reported are: agenziarossetti.com, Assicurazionin1.com, Assicurazioni-vinciguerra.com, contebrokerassicurazioni.it, difrancia-assicurazioni.com, tuo-assicurazioni.com and pisano-broker.com. Other reports, available on the Institute's website, were also made last December. In particular, IVASS advises consumers to check, before paying the premium, that the estimates and contracts refer to duly authorized companies and intermediaries and to consult on the website www.ivass.it the lists of Italian and foreign companies admitted to operate in Italy (general lists and specific lists for motor liability and marine liability), the Single Register of Insurance Intermediaries (RUI) and the List of European Union intermediaries, in addition tolist of notices relating to cases of counterfeiting, unauthorized companies and websites that do not comply with the rules on intermediation.


    In particular, the supervisory institute also reports that the premium payments made in favor of rechargeable or prepaid credit cards are irregular and that the payments made in favor of persons or companies not registered in the above lists and available for consultation are also irregular. . Consumers can also request clarifications and information from the IVASS Consumer Contact Center on the toll-free number 800.486661 from Monday to Friday h. 8.30 - 14.30.


    With regard to the websites and Facebook profiles (or other social networks) of Italian intermediaries who carry out online activities, IVASS also reminds you that they must always indicate the identification data of the intermediary, the address of the registered office, the telephone number, the fax number and certified e-mail address, as well as the number and date of registration in the single register of insurance and reinsurance intermediaries, as well as an indication that the intermediary is subject to the control of IVASS.

In the absence of this information, the consumer is exposed to the risk of taking out counterfeit policies.
