VIP Survival Season 5 (Network 13)

This glorious washout episode came after such a confusing 24 hours on the island - since everyone pretended to be everyone's friends, I did not even remember who were the ones who claimed they were washing his uncle and who were the ones claiming Gadi had to go. The only ones who were completely clear were Gadi and his uncle themselves, and perhaps also Jackie and Ella, whose absolute loyalty is still clear, and probably not for long either.

The main question that arose during the council was who was or was not in an alliance with Gadi and why. Zohar as usual provided vague answers which he based on the fact that Gadi had not looked him in the eye for several days since returning from the hut, and Jonathan admitted that he decided to sacrifice Gadi to protect himself, even though in the moment of truth he could not go with it to the end and sacrificed his uncle. A serious mistake that will probably cost him in the next dismissal.

Lots of unpleasantness would have been spared if the survivors had not continued to insist on their "values" in order to come out "okay," "moral," and "good friends."

Every season I wonder anew why it is so important to them, when in the end everyone will come in complaints to everyone, remove a follower, return a follower and get dirty on each other in the "pipe".

At this point in the game the tribe really must have internalized the fact that their alliances are no longer really relevant, because the dismissals are a combination of the ease with which the ousted can be mixed so that you do not harbor resentment in the future, and its popularity index, or "vitality" That one of "survival."

Come on, if there's a godfather on the island, it's Jackie, and Leah's right that Jackie's better not reach the final with his uncle, but Jackie's smart, and even if she thinks so, she's never thanked for it at this point in the game.

The pseudo-underground title "Children of Central Station" he invented, is merely meant to equate a romantic and subversive touch to the sense of loser who clung to him, ostensibly in the previous season he participated in it, but between us, who knows when.

Anyway, it's pretty clear that there is no real connection to "margins", and that his connection to Gadi and those in their moments of distress is primarily meant to strengthen him and not the other way around.

By and large, Zohar's goal and the reason for his existence this season seems to be to finally be the accepted kid who runs things, the godfather - the person who comes to him for consultation and he can veto, or alternatively hide a horse's head in Capricorn's bed and get rid of the man who causes inconvenience. Of the class Zohar is afraid to belong to.
