The Sundance Festival will come to an end this weekend, and today (Friday) the awards ceremony took place. The only Israeli competitor was "Tantura," Alon Schwartz's controversial film, which deals with evidence that IDF soldiers committed horrific war crimes in 1948
. Tantura, the winner was an Indian film called All That "Breathes," about two brothers struggling to save birds from the shocking environmental conditions of New Delhi. In Eastern Ukraine, special awards were given to "Midwives", which deals with women who set up an impromptu clinic in the cleft Minimar, and to "The Territory" which deals with the war to save the Amazon. This film also won the Audience Favorite Award.
Out of ten films that participated in the competition, four came out with an award - but unfortunately, "Tantura" was not one of them, but he will be content with the screening in a respectable setting, with a lot of enthusiastic reviews in the international media, public debate This year, including with us.
