Toyota Motor is confirmed as the best-selling car manufacturer in the world in 2021.
This was announced by the Japanese group, highlighting that it "maintained production despite a year of turbulence in the supply chain".
Toyota group sales, which include those of Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors, increased 10% to 10.5 million units for the year.
The result compares with the Volkswagen Group's deliveries of 8.88 million vehicles.
2021 marks the second consecutive year for Toyota at the top of global sales.
