Despite the decline in morbidity, Apple continues with efforts to make the lives of iPhone users simpler: The technology giant released its beta version
of iOS 15.4 over the weekend
, allowing users to unlock their iPhone using Face Detection even if they are wearing a mask.
According to a screenshot published on the MacRumors website, the definition of facial recognition states that "the feature knows how to recognize unique characters around the eye."
However, Apple emphasizes that this is a less accurate security measure and that the best option is to lock the device without a mask.
According to a report in The Verge, the feature now only supports iPhone 12 and 13 models only, and it is unclear if it is expected to reach more models when it is officially released.

Apple realized the problem last year, when with the update of iOS 14.5 it added the option for Apple Watch owners to skip entering the access code or face recognition - as long as the user wears their smartwatch.
When unlocking, the smartwatch transmits a short vibration to the user who alerts you.
