After several trials organized against their members at the end of 2021, the "Dalton", this group of rappers from Lyon who enjoys taunting the authorities by committing various crimes, had become more discreet at the start of 2022. This Friday, during a trip to the 8th arrondissement to meet the inhabitants of the popular district of Grand Trou, Grégory Doucet, the mayor (EELV) of Lyon and Olivier Berzane, the mayor (EELV) of the arrondissement, were targeted by jets of water bomb.

An action claimed on Instagram by the collective, known and criticized for its urban rodeos organized in the center of Lyon.

In a message posted on Instagram, they criticized the environmentalist councilor "for having put pressure on Many GT (

one of their leaders imprisoned since August 2021 for the wild filming of a clip

) to be locked up" accusing him thus being "partly responsible for the ordeal of (

their

) friend".

“It looks like he sleeps standing up.

Suddenly, what better than a cold shower to wake up a sleeping person, ”they also quipped.

This "attack" was not filmed "because the cameraman made a false maneuver", also indicated the "Dalton".

“Unacceptable violence”

In a press release, the city of Lyon assured that "Olivier Berzane, the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, was the victim of a physical attack carried out by two individuals, one of whom was dressed in Dalton", but assures that the mayor of Lyon "was not affected" contrary to what the "Daltons" claim.

“These attacks of unacceptable violence, these threats to people cannot be tolerated.

Nothing can justify such acts.

Mayors act as close as possible to fellow citizens in all neighborhoods and in particular on that day in a neighborhood where their actions are expected and necessary.

Attacking elected officials damages the values of the Republic, those who serve it, ”added the community in its press release.

A complaint has been filed.

The city of Lyon recalls that according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, physical attacks against elected officials increased by 47% over the first eleven months of 2021, compared to the same period the previous year.

Of the 1,186 elected victims of attacks, 605 were mayors or deputies.

“We stayed wise for a long time”

The collective had announced Tuesday, February 1, in another message shared on Instagram, to want to resume its actions.

“We remained wise for a long time hoping that justice would free our friend or at least that he would be entitled to normal detention, patience and kindness did not work, too bad, soon back on the streets… the Daltons !

(sic)”, they had warned.

And to add: “The holidays are almost over Mr. Mayor, we are going to get back to work (sic)”.

On November 26, 2021, three young members of the "Daltons" had been sentenced to prison terms, one of whom had been incarcerated.

At the end of December, two other members of the group were sentenced for mortar fire during a CNews program.
