At a whopping 417 km/h, a millionaire in the Bugatti Chiron sped across a German autobahn section without a speed limit.

Still, he's in trouble now.

Berlin – For car fans, the Bugatti Chiron is one of the most fascinating vehicles ever built.

A technical marvel with a 16-cylinder engine and an output of 1,500 hp – this allows the hyper sports car to accelerate to speeds well in excess of 400 km/h.

Actually a case for the race track.

Or just for a section on a German autobahn.

A Czech millionaire by the name of Radim Passer has now stepped on the gas there – and accelerated the French car to 417 km/h (!) on the A2 between Berlin and Hanover.

The action, which the Czech captured on video, is hotly debated.

And although there is no speed limit on the corresponding section of the route, the millionaire is now threatened with legal trouble, as reported by 24auto.de.

Great joy after the drive: Radim Passer raced in the Bugatti Chiron at 417 km/h on a German autobahn.

Radim Passer uploaded the video (below) of the crazy ride to YouTube – and it has meanwhile received almost nine million views.

According to the video description, the millionaire started the journey at 4:50 a.m., so the three-lane highway is largely empty.

Nevertheless, some vehicles can be seen in the video, which the Bugatti Chiron thunders past at more than 400 km/h.

Among other things, you can see a yellow Porsche 911 Turbo S – which apparently belongs to the millionaire’s team.

It is said to be traveling at more than 200 km/h when the Bugatti – the brand is now majority owned by the Croatian manufacturer Rimac – whizzes by.

417 km / h on the highway: millionaire defends himself against allegations

In a YouTube comment, the millionaire (via his video team) defends himself against allegations that the ride was irresponsible and dangerous.

Visibility was good (three to four kilometers), all the cars that were passed were driving in the right lane and the Bugatti Chiron could brake from 400 to zero km/h in nine seconds.

Fences are also installed along the entire route so that no animals can run across the road.

417 km/h on the Autobahn: Was the speeding action in the Bugatti a “single race”?

But although there is no speed limit on the section of the route, the Czech Bugatti racer is now facing legal trouble.

As "bild.de" reports, the driver is accused of a so-called forbidden "single race".

According to the Criminal Code (§ 315d Paragraph 1 Number 3), two or more vehicles do not necessarily have to take part in a race.

It is also interpreted as "prohibited motor vehicle racing" if a "motor vehicle driver moves at an inappropriate speed and grossly contrary to traffic and recklessly in order to reach the highest possible speed." According to the law, this can be punished with imprisonment for up to two years or a fine will.

At least the latter should only hurt the multi-millionaire and Bugatti owner a little.
