"It's impossible not to love, it's perfect": The world is flying over the Eurovision song and Michael Ben David

As befits a song for the Eurovision Song Contest, the reactions range from "the best song ever written in the entire universe" to "it's time to expel Israel from the family of nations and exile it into space."

Nevertheless, a survey of Eurovision fans around the world shows that most of them are optimistic about Israeli singing and song

Announcement of the winner and representative of the Eurovision Song Contest - Michael Ben David (NOW Guy Divon)

At the end of a long process that included 35 episodes on the 13 Plus network, a song selection broadcast here 11 Israel chose the song for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Turin, Italy. After years in which the format of the next Eurovision star included only the selection of the representative and the unveiling of the song after a few weeks, the Israeli audience was given the opportunity to choose the overall package for the first time since 2016, when Hovi Star was chosen to represent Israel with Made of Stars.

As befits a song for the Eurovision Song Contest, the reactions range from "the best song ever written in the entire universe" to "it's time to expel Israel from the family of nations and exile it into space," with almost nothing in between.

There is nothing to get excited about and as we see every year, Eurovision fans are very emotional when their favorite song is not actually chosen.

Until last night, we were interested in what Israelis think, but from now on we, Bnei Zion, have no influence on the vote, and the right to determine our fate passes to Europe and Australia.

So we put on masks and went on a tour around the globe and checked what the world thinks of us, and whether Israel will reach a tremendous achievement with the seventh consecutive Eurovision final.

Just before we start, we'll tell you that this year we're here at Walla!

Culture accompanies Michael's journey between David on the way to conquering Europe, and as always we are behind the Israeli delegation and wish it great success.

Let's start with Noosh, a very popular British-Armenian YouTube anchor in the Eurovision-loving world.

"Israel had four finalists and they were all equally good. Michael Ben David's IM song was the best of the quartet. From the moment I saw it I knew it would come to the Eurovision. I love the choreography, it's so good and I feel like a demon has entered me. Israel, You have chosen the right person today. "

According to Nush, "there is everything here - there is Eurovision here, there is Israel, there is the Middle East, how can you not like it, it's just perfect."

Jude, a YouTuber from Northern Ireland who also gets thousands of views on his reaction videos, was also enthusiastic about Michael Ben-David's voice - "you can not ignore that he has a good voice";

From the show itself - "This is Camp's definition";

And also from the Middle Eastern part of the song - "It's so good".

But what about choosing the song?

Of the eight songs featured, he was originally ranked by Jude in sixth place: "It's not my favorite, but his performance is good, his voice in a live performance is good, I think the song will make it to the finals."

One of the stars of the Eurovision Press Center over the years is Matt from the escYOUnited website, which is written by Eurovision fans from around the world, including from the United States.

Already at the beginning of last week, when Israel's songs were shown, IM was his favorite, so you can only describe his feelings of joy.

"He can sing, he can definitely sing. He sings and dances at the same time and it's not a simple thing. He gives us personality and confidence. He's all in it and he can definitely do it."

Matt continues to rave throughout the video and states: "He not only lives up to expectations, he passes them."

And here's the time to introduce you to one of the favorite concepts of Eurovision fans - Revamp, one of the improvements that the chosen song will make to make it worthy of standing on the world's biggest music stage.

Israel has done it several times, including Hovi Star and Eden Elena last year, and in Matt's opinion this year too should do it: "increase the pace, add Middle Eastern motifs, improve the choreography."

And what if this is the final version that will be sent to Eurovision?

"I'm going to be disappointed and worried because it just is not strong enough. It sounds like a demo version."

Accept Michael Ben David as you have never seen before

There are a few more loggers in the Eurovision world that we are still waiting to hear, but until then we have collected some comments for the winning performance of MBD on YouTube:

Eitan M:

I can not stop watching it again and again. A very beautiful song, Michael should reach the top ten in Eurovision, love Azerbaijan!

Alice 0101:

Wow it's amazing! Congratulations from Sweden.

Joel Janko:

Wow, I'm so excited about this song. It has everything we need from Israel. It can be very successful on the Eurovision stage. Good luck from the UK.

Sophie Lone:

I'm obsessed with this song and I love Michael, live performance and perfect singing, wow! Love from Norway.

Abdias Arvelo-Guernica:

This song gives me a serious serious vogue of Anne Vogue! Blessed be God and congratulations Michael Ben David! Love from California

.

Okay, he was my favorite, but I did not expect him to win because the odds were net in favor of someone else.

What a surprise, I'm really happy, he has a rhythm and it's fun.

Love from Portugal.

There are of course hundreds of other supportive comments, but there are also those who were disappointed, like Mark Chapman who did not skimp on the words: "You should listen to his covers for Rise Like a Phoenix and GI.Mme GI.Mme. Most of the songs submitted for the four finalists are clichéd and cheap "We are in 2022 and even Eden, who had one of the most beautiful songs for this genre, failed to get into the top 10 last year."

Chapman criticized the decision not to write a single song in Hebrew: "We must not forget that Barbara Pravi won second place without moving. We must remember that the show is not everything and the song is the most important element. I am so disappointed. Michael is so talented but the song is not Shows his talent. "

At a glance in the comments to the YouTube video, and without going into official statistics, it seems that most of the commenters are happy with the choice.

The video on the X Factor Israel page has already garnered more than 114,000 views, 3,300 likes, and is approaching 1,000 comments.

And what do the betting agencies say?

So far only nine songs have been selected from 41 participating countries, and some of them we have not seen at all in a live performance but only in a clip, so the answer to the question "what do the betting agencies say" should be "who cares, it's all nonsense at this point".

The betting agencies are a likable anecdote for reference only after all the songs have been released.

At the moment the fluctuations are meaningless.

How meaningless?

Israel was ranked 24th before the publication of the X Factor final songs and dropped to 29th place after their publication.

Anyone who managed to capture a screenshot of the jump to 21st place after choosing the song IM, will be disappointed to find that this afternoon there was already a drop to 26th place, and who knows where Israel will be while you read these lines.

And we also have a message for the hysterical Israelis with "We will break a record with a last place in the semi-finals": Let us reassure you.

Thankfully Ireland and Northern Macedonia are with us in that Eurovision semi-final.

Their songs have already been selected and published and are so trivial that Israel will have a hard time reaching the last place even more than qualifying for the semifinals.

Let's sum up: the reactions in the world are not very harsh and even relatively encouraging.

The Israeli team has a little over a month to improve the production ahead of the delegation heads' conference, the deadline for submitting the songs to the European Broadcasting Union and the Eurovision production in Turin.

Israel will participate in the second semi-final to be held on Thursday, May 12 at 22:00 Israel time.

We are already praying to the Goddess of the Doz Foa that Michael will get to perform the song once again in the 2022 Eurovision final on May 14, and we will not stop updating you on all the preparations, rehearsals, reactions, and performances.
