In Tesla, these things happen as a matter of routine.
Every few months the company replaces batteries, increases range, changes the operation of certain systems in the car and more.
However, it is very rare for the old car industry to work this way.
Well, not this time.
Hyundai Ionic 5, Hyundai's first dedicated electric car was introduced about a year ago and is already undergoing a number of changes that will enter the car starting in June.
The first change is in ride comfort and behavior following the addition of dampers to the rear shock absorbers.
These should, at least according to Hyundai, improve the comfort and behavior of the car.
Side cameras will be offered as an option for regular side mirrors as we have already seen in other models like Audi e tron.
It should be noted that at least so far these applications in which the camera transmits what is happening on the sides of the vehicle to small screens in the cabin have had a hard time proving themselves to be more of a gimmick in real life.
But for car manufacturers and especially when it comes to electric vehicles - it is a significant component, as it allows them to reduce the car's surface area, hence its resistance to air - which affects the range of travel.
The rear-view mirror will also be replaced by a camera that will project its image onto the center mirror.

But the most significant changes concern the two points that accompany any electric car owner - the battery.
The Ionic marketed so far with a 72.6 kWh battery (or 58.2 for the short-range version abroad) will get a slightly larger battery of 77.4 kWh - which is expected to improve the current range of 481km declared.
It should be noted that the competitor - from the Ionic 5 and the car that uses the same platform - Kia EV6 was initially introduced with this battery.
Another improvement that should both improve battery life and shorten its charging times is a thermal management system.
Upon arrival at a charging station (according to a pre-determined location), the car will prepare the battery for the ideal temperature for its charging (heating or cooling).
Temperature changes have a significant effect on battery efficiency, whether it is cooling in summer or heating in winter, beyond the use of heating / cooling accessories in the passenger compartment.
It is not yet clear whether and when the Ionic 5 with the larger battery will arrive in Israel.
