A man traded in his Tesla Model S for a V8 sedan.

In a web post, he explains why he "couldn't be happier" now.

Austin - Hardly any car brand divides opinions as much as Tesla: While some see it as probably the most advanced automobile and don't let anything come on their (now Texan) Stromer, others see the matter much more critically.

The focus is on the recurring problems with the "autopilot" and the "full self-driving" system.

In addition, there are the quality problems that have often been criticized.

Even the owner of a Model S was not satisfied with the quality of his Tesla - and exchanged it without further ado - for a V8 sedan, as reported by 24auto.de.

The man reports on his exchange on the Reddit portal.

There he also tells what bothered him about his Tesla Model S.

Among them are some things that he could of course have known before the purchase.

For example, that the Stromer does not have a combustion engine sound and that there are hardly any buttons or rotary controls in the interior.

However, according to the ex-Tesla owner, the interior was "uncomfortable".

He swapped his Tesla Model S for a Chrysler 300 C, an upper mid-range sedan with a V8 engine and rear-wheel drive.

He knows that the quality of vehicles from FCA (now Stellantis) is also not exactly the best, he explains in his post.

"But hey - the Tesla prepared me well for this".

Admittedly, he did have advantages with his Tesla – for example, he could have charged the car for free.

And he “loved” the app with which you can monitor the car.

Nevertheless: For the price, he was "more than disappointed" with the quality of the Tesla, as well as with the poor customer service.

The gaps are as bad as everyone says the screen has yellowed after two years.

Another big problem for the man: "Spare parts are hard to come by and extremely expensive." Not only did he have to wait three months for a new mirror, he also paid 1,000 US dollars for it.

Now that the age of e-mobility is just around the corner, he recommends anyone who likes combustion engines to get an “old school” V8 – while they can.

He didn't regret it.

"Call me crazy, but I now have 2 Chrysler 300s in the driveway and couldn't be happier."
