Camping is booming, not least because of the corona pandemic.

Therefore, some have now ordered their own mobile home.

But long waiting times become a nuisance.

In the last two years, holidays had to be one thing above all: safe.

The corona pandemic has even made travel impossible in some places because entry and exit bans were imposed as part of infection control measures.

Quite a few therefore went on a camping holiday*.

As a rule, luxury is somewhat neglected if the toilet is not cleaned by the hotel staff, but has to be emptied yourself.

But when it comes to safety, traveling with a camper or caravan scores points.

Contact with others can be avoided entirely, which reduces the risk of corona infection.

Are you enthusiastic about traveling in a mobile home?

For frequent campers, purchasing your own vehicle can make sense.

But currently long waiting times and even price increases after ordering are to be expected

.

What is legal is explained by the Allgemeine Deutsche Automobil-Club e.

V., ADAC for short, as Europe's largest traffic club.

Supply chains are currently difficult to maintain: As a result, mobile homes are not ready on time

If you order a mobile home now, you have to be prepared for long delivery times.

It can take more than a year before the object of desire can be delivered.

Many traders have delivery problems, partly due to the shortage of raw materials.

Not only wood, but also copper and steel are becoming scarce.

Electronics suppliers have problems delivering their parts on time due to copper shortages, for example

.

As a result, the navigation systems for mobile homes do not reach the manufacturer in time.

The result: supply chains are difficult to maintain.

Therefore, many buyers are currently receiving unpleasant notifications: The long-awaited mobile home* often cannot be delivered on the specified date.

But it can get even worse:

In some cases, the buyer is even encouraged to pay more than agreed

.

If he is not willing to do so, some providers demand withdrawal from the purchase contract.

When do you have to accept a price increase as a mobile home buyer?

According to the ADAC, many members are currently reporting that mobile home dealers have announced

massive price increases

of several thousand euros.

According to the ADAC, there is also talk of further delivery delays of up to five months.

How to behave in such cases?

The automobile club informs that a subsequent price increase after the conclusion of the contract is not permitted without a corresponding contractual agreement.

Does the purchase contract contain a

price adjustment clause?

, the increase is in principle legally possible - but only if the contractually stipulated delivery period is four months or longer.

Also important according to ADAC: The price adjustment clause must precisely limit the price increase and the buyer must be able to withdraw from the purchase contract above a certain amount.

In addition to a price adjustment clause, there must also be a lack of predictability.

This means: The seller may only pass on price increases to the buyer if the

reasons for this did not occur before the conclusion of the contract

and the seller could not foresee them.

You don't know whether your purchase contract contains a price adjustment clause or whether it is contestable?

Then, according to the ADAC, you should consult a lawyer.

In general, the following applies in the event of a subsequent price increase: Request the seller in writing to deliver the mobile home at the contractually agreed purchase price and refer to your purchase contract.

The ADAC also says: If the seller does not want to deliver the mobile home, does not accept the price increase, or if there are further delays in delivery,

you can sue the dealer for surrender and, if necessary, claim damages
