November 13 trial: an association of victims requests the dissemination of images of the Bataclan

The court did not want to "unnecessarily shock".

The Life for Paris association, a civil party to the trial of the November 13 attacks, asked the court to broadcast to the hearing new images and other sound clips of the Bataclan massacre, we learned on Saturday with its president, confirming information from France Inter.

In a letter addressed Friday evening to the president of the special assize court of Paris and communicated to the parties, Life for Paris asks that "when the time comes" photos from the findings made by the investigators at the Bataclan, as well as extracts of an audio recording of the killing.

These images, selected by the association, show in particular the bodies of the victims after the evacuation of the wounded as well as the traces of blood inside the performance hall.

"These are only images taken from afar, there is no close-up," assured AFP the president of Life for Paris, Arthur Dénouveaux.

“It seems essential to us.

This trial, without these images being shown, it makes no sense, ”he explained.

A rare precaution, the court has so far refused to broadcast images that could "unnecessarily shock".

But after five weeks of testimony from civil parties, including survivors of the attacks that left 130 dead in Paris and Saint-Denis, including 90 at the Bataclan, Mr. Dénouveaux had already expressed his wish to show more "difficult images" .

I admit that I also asked myself the question during the debates ”, had replied to him at the end of October the president of the court Jean-Louis Périès.

He then broadcast a short sound extract of the attack on the Bataclan, in which we hear in particular the claims of the attackers.

In its letter, Life for Paris requests the broadcasting of an additional “ten minutes” of this recording of a dictaphone which remained on and which captured the entire attack, in order to make the trial hear one hostages talking to the police, as well as the final assault.

Opened on September 8, the trial is due to end at the end of June.
