Refueling is more expensive than ever in Germany.
At the weekend, diesel was even more expensive than Super.
There is no relaxation in sight for motorists - on the contrary.
Russia's war against Ukraine has again pushed fuel prices to record highs.
Consumers had to pay more for a liter of
diesel
on Sunday than for Super E10, as the ADAC announced on Monday.
Nationwide, a liter of Super E10 costs an average of 1.965 euros.
Diesel was even two cents more expensive than Super and rose to 1.984 euros.
War in Ukraine: Gasoline prices again at record highs
According to the ADAC, the fact that
diesel is currently more expensive than Super E10
is due to the currently very high demand for heating oil.
"It's actually atypical for the season, but apparently people are currently buying heating oil because they don't know how it will be next winter," said an ADAC spokesman in Munich.

High fuel prices - no relief for motorists in sight
There is no relief in sight: A possible freeze on imports of oil from Russia
drove oil prices
to their highest level since 2008 at the start of the week.
In early trading, the price of a barrel (159 liters) of North Sea Brent rose by up to almost 18 percent to $139.13 and was thus close to the record level of almost $150 from summer 2008. This accelerated the rise in the oil prices in recent days.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had previously brought new punitive measures against Russia into play because of the further escalation of the Ukraine war*: Washington is advising European allies on a possible import stop for oil from Russia.
