Trailer for Special Union "Friends" (Warner)
Courtney Cox, forever Monica Geller from "Friends," is 57 today, and she revealed something the New York Post described as "shocking" when she admitted she doesn't remember much of the time she was in "Friends" filming.
Cox recently sat down for an interview with Willy Geist of "Today" and shared that she realized she had a lot of holes in her memory from the time she appeared in "Friends: Union" in May 2021. "I had to watch all 10 seasons because when I did Union and asked questions, I felt - ' "I do not remember being there," she laughed, "yes. I do not remember filming so many episodes."
Last year, the cast of “Friends” teamed up to recall a comedy that turned all six of the founders into stars and familiar names in almost every home in the world.
Cox was joined by Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Cudrow Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer to share stories and reminisce about their time on the show.

"I see it on TV sometimes and I stop and say to myself - 'Oh my God, I do not remember it at all,'" Cox said.
"But it's so funny."
She admitted she has a "bad memory" and she doesn't remember many things from her life beyond filming the iconic sitcom.
"I also do not remember any trauma from my childhood. I have maybe three childhood memories. I do not know why."
Cox confessed that she was very disappointed with her lack of memories from her time in "Friends."
"I'm pretty upset that we did not spend more time taking pictures. Because I do not have much to look at to remember," she said (and probably forgot again - that she has 236 episodes of photos to remember).

But not all of her years on the show have been erased from her mind.
Cox shared one memory that stuck with her over the years - when series director James "Jim" Burroughs took the cast on a trip to Las Vegas just before the show aired in 1994.
"He gave us all $ 500 and said, 'I want you to really pay attention to this moment - because this will be the last time you two can go through a casino together,'" she said.
"And we were skeptical but it was true. We could never do it again. I mean, I do not want to sound Swiss. We are not, you know, the Beatles. But people feel they know us," she continued.
"If we were all walking down the street, all six, I think it would be very interesting and exciting for many people."
Cox admits she re-watched part of the show, but shared that there are episodes that are hard for her to sit and watch.
She explained that some episodes were slightly accelerated so that another commercial could be incorporated into them, which she thought made her voice sound like a mouse or a tinkerbell.
"My God! I hate my voice so much," Cox said, but admitted she likes to watch the show when she's not running fast.
She concluded that she was glad that people still loved the show so much, "I feel lucky," she said.
Although the last episodes of Friends aired in 2004, the series can still be watched on a variety of platforms, bringing it to new audiences.
Cox said she sometimes feels like the popularity of the series has never waned.

"I knew it was something special, but the fact that it's still special today is weird. I left the hotel today, or yesterday, and I said to someone, 'How did I get back to being popular?'" Cox laughed.
"I mean, I really feel like there's paparazzi being chased and that's because 'friends,' I think, will never die. It does not matter what generation watches it. It lasts. I think comedy is still relevant. People can relate to any character. I do not care. "I'm how big my cell phone is or you can not pick up the computer. Life is the same life."
