A commander and a major stationed at the Paris judicial police were brought to the Paris courthouse this Friday for "consultation of files, passive corruption and violation of professional secrecy".
The officer and his colleague, in their fifties, are suspected of having exchanged confidential information with a Serbian national in return for carrying out work.
The major left the courthouse with a summons to the criminal court and the commander was indicted before being released under judicial supervision.
A few months ago, investigators from the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) were alerted by curious practices detected in the Parisian PJ department responsible for combating cybercrime.
The "beef-carrots" as the men of the police force are nicknamed, note that files were questioned by the two men without any obvious relation to their work.
The commander owns a building in the province
In November, the commander is heard for the first time freely by his colleagues who are carrying out a search of his home.
It is about work that the policeman would have done free of charge in a building he owns in the province.
In return, he would have provided confidential and useful information to one of his acquaintances of Serbian nationality who works in the security services of the embassy of his country.

In the middle of the week, the two officials were arrested before being placed in police custody in the premises of the IGPN located in the 12th arrondissement.
The major, suspected of having helped the commander, admitted having consulted the police files.
But he denies any form of corruption.
The major denies everything and ensures that the work carried out in his building was paid for and implemented in good and due form by a company with a storefront.
When questioned, the direction of the judicial police does not wish to comment on this case.
