Skoda's family car, the Octavia, is about to be renewed in another version in Israel, Walla! Vehicle has learned.

The new model is registered with the Ministry of Transportation under this "Ambition" finish level, which is attached to the entry-level versions of the manufacturer's models.

The Octavia Plug-in, or as it is officially called the iV, uses a 1.4-liter turbo engine to which an electric propulsion unit is connected and the two produce a maximum power of 204 hp and 35.7 kg.

A 13 kWh battery can carry it at the power of up to 64-68 km declared.

This is the most powerful Octavia under the RS versions of the model.

However, despite the reinforcement of the horses, the performance is good, but not from asphalt wrinkles - 7.5 seconds per 100 and 220 km / h maximum.

Another place that pays a price for the extra batteries is its trunk, which drops from 553 liters in the regular Octavia to 450 liters.

In terms of safety systems, the Octavia plug-in includes a reverse camera, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane departure correction, but lacks a "dead zone" vehicle alert - probably due to a lack of chips from which the entire industry suffers.

According to the data we have, the price of the Octavia in this version is expected to be NIS 174,000.

"With this paddle, it competes directly with the compact family group it does not have," says Amir Weinstock of the "Carzon" website for comparing vehicles, It costs NIS 169,000 and the Kia Niro Plug is the cheapest of them with a price tag of NIS 158,500, but is about to be replaced soon. "

Marketing of the Octavia plug-in is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
