The opening of the third season of "Doubles" proves that she is here to give a fight

The opening episode of the third season of "Doubles" may have limped a bit with the high-tech lingo, but in other respects he mentioned why this series is so effective.

She looks great, and not just by Israeli standards, with accurate photography and excellent directing of the action scenes

"Double" Trailer Season 3 (Rainbow 12)

After the first season it was five innocent Israelis (or not) who were accused of kidnapping an Iranian official, and the second season it was three innocent Israelis (say) who were accused of blowing up an oil pipeline during a ceremony attended by Israeli and Turkish politicians, in its third season "Doubles" Dream about it and move to high-tech (or high-tech as they say today).

The Israeli company "StreamMaze" takes its two hundred employees to exaggerated celebrations in the city of Paphos in Cyprus (yes, they also brought Skazi), in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and member of the political cabinet, Shimi Dekel (Ohad Knoller), then a chemical attack takes place. It is difficult and suspicious that three of the company's employees were involved in the act.

The one who was sent this time to solve the mystery, and in fact almost alone constitutes the connecting thread between the seasons, is GSS man Eitan Kopel (Mickey Leon).

Although more than three years have passed since it was recently broadcast in Hebrew (its very bad American version, "Suspicion", ended just last week on Apple TV Plus), the conspiracy atmosphere of "Doubles" feels more relevant than ever.

At the basis of the suspense series created by Liora Kaminecki, Maria Feldman and Amit Cohen-Rab, is the feeling that is familiar to every Israeli.

If there is one more significant symptom of the corona virus than loss of sense of taste and smell, it is the exponential rise in people who believe in conspiracy theories.

"Doubles" doesn't need you to believe in creatures with big heads and scary eyes, she knows her viewers doubt everyone and everything, hence she just needs to provide a suspenseful enough plot to keep us on edge throughout an entire season.

Judging by the first chapter alone, there seems to be something to look forward to.

Without going into details that will ruin the experience for those who have not yet watched, it can be said that the cast of the new season promises favors.

"Doubles" is actually a kind of anthology: each season begins a new story with an almost entirely new cast.

Along with Knoller and Leon, many familiar names were cast for the new season: Tali Sharon, Rumi Abulafia, Vladimir Friedman, Shani Aviv, Lena Freifeld, Shani Aviv, Uri Yaniv and more.

It is also worth noting Alma Kinney who conquered the screen in the first season of "Headquarters" and appears here in a supporting role (very similar to the same iconic role).

Based on the first episode she threatens to reconstruct the crime and steal the show here as well.

Compared to the cast that impressed from the first moment, the plot so far seems like a somewhat detached mix between satire on the high-tech world, capital-government ties and international terrorists.

That's fine, it can be said that the Israeli high-tech industry, for its glorious million-dollar parties, has honestly earned the criticism it receives.

At the same time, "Doubles" doesn't seem to have explored enough of the world she's engaged in this season and she's dragged into clichés that might work great in the sketch series on "Webos" in "Great Country," but feels a bit infantile in a serious suspense series.

Phrases like "We made the brave decision to use Target streaming" feel like someone on the team was given the task of rolling out all sorts of terms that feel like high-tech and incorporating them into a script, from a series like "Duplicates" one would expect a little more.

While leaving the arena empty, the "Tehran" of Here 11 and Apple TV Plus also joined the arena of conspiratorial Israeli suspense series, and received rave reviews, among other things, for the high production values.

Watching the new season of "Doubles" proves that she is back to give a fight, the premiere episode looks great, and not only by Israeli standards, with accurate photography and excellent directing of the not many but very effective action scenes.

Suspense series are measured by one simple question: Do we want to continue watching the next episode?

In the above case the answer is quite simple - yes.
