Trial of Tony Vairelles: 3 years in prison required against the former football international

Three years in prison, without a warrant, were required this Thursday against Tony Vairelles, former striker of the French football team, tried for having shot the security guards of a nightclub in 2011 .

With his three brothers, he has been appearing free since Monday before the Nancy Criminal Court.

Fabrice, Jimmy, Giovan and Tony Vairelles were initially indicted for attempted murder, but escaped the Assize Court thanks to a reclassification of the facts.

The four brothers are suspected of having opened fire and injured three security guards at the Les Quatre-As nightclub in Essey-lès-Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) on the night of October 22 to 23, 2011. the eldest, Fabrice, the same sentence as Tony Vairelles - three years without a warrant - was required.

Six months firm have been requested for the two youngest, Jimmy and Giovan.

Security guards are prosecuted for violence in meetings with weapons, in this case "a tear gas canister, security barriers and a truncheon", facts punishable by five years' imprisonment.

During the evening, Giovan and Jimmy, then aged 20 and 30 respectively, quickly got into an argument with the security guards over the ban on keeping your drink on the dance floor.

But the dispute had degenerated into a violent brawl and had continued in the parking lot of the establishment.

The four Vairelles brothers all deny having fired shots which seriously injured three guards.
