The son of Abdelhakim Sefrioui, an Islamist fundamentalist indicted and detained in the case of the assassination of Samuel Paty, was arrested this Saturday at the end of the morning by the anti-terrorist sub-directorate and placed in police custody in the investigation into the professor's murder, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
Aged 29, he was arrested as he was about to visit his father in Beauvais prison.
According to this same source, the reasons for his placement in police custody in this case are unknown for the moment.

His father, Abdelhakim Sefrioui, file S, had been indicted in October 2020 for "complicity in assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise", shortly after the murder of Samuel Paty.
He is accused of having contributed to inflaming the controversy targeting the professor, which led to his beheading on October 16, 2020 in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines).
