Kid Rock sells Ford GT: autographed guitar is a bonus

In the early 2000s, Ford revived the GT.
One of the few copies went to Kid Rock.
Now the sports car is being auctioned off with a guitar.
Dearborn – The Ford GT is one of the most legendary cars that the US automaker has ever built.
This is not least due to the great successes that the GT40 was able to achieve in the - equally legendary - 24-hour race in Le Mans - Ford won this four times in a row from 1966 onwards.
Finally, at the North American International Auto Show in 2002, the Americans presented a GT40 concept car that visually hardly differed from the original.
A year later, to commemorate Ford's 100th anniversary, a production model followed, but without the 40 suffix.
Ford produced a total of 4,038 examples of the GT from 2004 to 2006, one of which was acquired by Kid Rock.
And that will be auctioned at RM Sotheby's on March 26, as reported by 24auto.de.
The car is painted in Mark IV Red with white racing stripes.
When it came to extras, too, the musician rocked it and selected all available factory options, such as BBS forged aluminum wheels, red brake calipers and an improved McIntosh stereo system with subwoofer.

But the red Ford GT isn't the only thing the auction winner gets.
In addition to the sports car, there is also a Ford GT poster signed by designer Camilo Pardo, the original manuals, an air compressor and a guitar signed by Kid Rock.

Like all first-generation Ford GTs, the car is powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 with 550 hp.
This accelerates the sports car to 100 km/h in just under 3.3 seconds. The car reaches a top speed of 330 km/h.

However, unlike the GT40 used in long-distance racing, Kid Rock's sports car only covered a few kilometers.
According to the ad, the musician's red GT has only covered 3,096 miles (4,982 kilometers).
The car is said to have been well maintained.
Accordingly, the black leather interior is still in good condition.
Incidentally, the musician is not the only musician who parted with a piece of automotive jewellery.
Rapper Post Malone also sold his white Bugatti Chiron.
And the Porsche from the film “Bad Boys” also went under the hammer at auction and made its former owner angry at himself.
