A special Mercedes in honor of a special athlete: an artist tells the story of golfer Bernhard Langer on a G-Class.

Stuttgart/Augusta – Anyone who has always wondered what the “G” actually means in the G-Class from Mercedes-Benz will find the solution here: It stands for off-road vehicle.

In contrast to many other models from the Stuttgart premium manufacturer, little has changed in terms of the angular look of the vehicle introduced in 1979.

Mercedes has now had a special version of the G model designed for the golfer Bernhard Langer (64) – by a very special artist, as reported by 24auto.de.

In honor of golf legend Bernhard Langer, Mercedes had a tape artist design a special G model.

Bernhard Langer has won the Masters Tournament twice in his career – in 1985 and 1993. It has been 40 years since he first took part in the tournament in 1982.

And because the G-Class is about 40 years old, Mercedes has now honored the German golf legend with a special version.

The model was designed by Leah Abucayan - a tape artist.

She creates works of art out of adhesive tape.

Not long ago, an artist spectacularly painted a Lamborghini Huracán EVO.

On the off-road vehicle she designed, the artist tells the story of the world-class golfer with her work.

Among other things, a portrait of Langer can be seen on the Mercedes.

In addition, the number of professional victories (119) and the number of tournaments played (more than 1,000) were also immortalized on the G model, of which there is also a cheap Indian clone.

"I am very happy about this honor and I am impressed by what has been created here," says Bernhard Langer.

The fans of the artist Leah Abucaya are also impressed by her work: "It's incredible," someone commented on one of her Insta posts about the G-Class - which was also built as a landaulet version for a short period of time.

Another is convinced: "This is one of the best works of art you have created so far!"
