Bmw X7, second generation Bavarian suv even more 'super'

Now, with the arrival of the second generation - scheduled for next August - the largest Sports Activity Vehicle (Sav) of the Bavarian brand gains in character and elegance, adding content and technologies that reinforce its leadership.

The BMW X7 brings to the market a further expanded range of equipment, many new and improved assistance systems and the latest 48v hybrid technology for the three engines provided.

The important changes to the design accentuate above all the exclusivity of X7, which is the largest model of the X families, that is, that of BMW's savs.

The newly structured front incorporates the distinctive elements of BMW design, such as the double headlights and the double kidney, but with a new interpretation that emphasizes the 'high' position of the car and reinforces its presence on the road.

Standard in the top-of-the-range X7 M60i xDrive variant, and on request in the others, the BMW 'Iconic Glow' double kidney is present at the front, while at the rear the progressive style of the thin lighting bodies is emphasized by a three-dimensional internal sculpture.

The elegant chrome bar connecting the rear light clusters of the new BMW X7 is encased in a high-quality glass cover.

Also planned is a newly developed M Sport package, available as an option, which highlights even more the dynamic driving characteristics of the sav X7 such as 21-inch light-alloy wheels.

It should be noted that the generous spaciousness on board can also be used in three rows for a total of 7 seats.

In European markets, BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery is standard.

A newly designed dashboard stands out in the passenger compartment, with thin air vents and an ambient light bar included in its lower part.

Above all, the most innovative element is the BMW Curved Display which adapts the equipment to the ever more extensive digitization.

The engine range - all with 48 Volt Mhev electrification - is led by a new 4.4-liter petrol V8 for the top-of-the-range X7 M60i xDrive version.

Equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology and a cross-bank exhaust manifold, it delivers 530 Hp with a maximum torque of 750 Nm.

In the X7 xDrive40i, a latest generation in-line 6-cylinder engine makes its debut, boasting a wide range of innovations - combustion process , gas exchange, valve control, injection and ignition system - all of which improve performance and efficiency.

The power of the new engine is 47 Hp more than the previous unit and reaches 380 Hp, while the maximum torque increases by 70 Nm hitting the limit of 540 Nm.

BMW continues to offer an extremely efficient 6-cylinder turbodiesel for the X7 (that of the X7 xDrive40d) improved to cut fuel consumption and emissions.

The maximum power is 352 hp, with a torque of 700 Nm which can be increased up to 720 Nm with the help of the lightweight hybrid system.

All engines are mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission that includes steering wheel shift levers and a Sprint function.

And in all versions of the X7, the power of the engine is channeled onto the road or unpaved terrain, via the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system.
