Instead of stopping for a police check, a Maserati driver stepped on the gas on the freeway - and sped away.
In the end, chance helped the pursuers.
Mönchengladbach – Anyone who sits behind the wheel of a high-horsepower sports car sometimes has to slow down a bit in order not to overdo it.
If you do it, it doesn't always end well, as in the case of a Ferrari buyer from Great Britain who crashed his car after only three kilometers or in this case with a Ferrari poser whose car was only on loan.
Now a Maserati driver has pushed the gas properly - and also got the receipt, as reported by 24auto.de.

As reported by the police, a patrol of the motorway police was on the A 61 towards Koblenz when a Maserati thundered past their car at the Mönchengladbach-Nordpark junction – at “significantly more” than the 120 km/h permitted there.
So the officials changed lanes to control the Maserati racer – but instead of slowing down, the driver really gave his car the spurs.

Maserati driver races away from the police - a traffic light is his undoing
The police officers accelerated their vehicle up to 200 km/h - but were still unable to follow the sports car.
The Maserati was no longer to be seen shortly thereafter.
Just recently, an Audi driver had been in a chase with the police through three federal states.
But the Maserati driver was obviously unlucky: Because he drove off at the Mönchengladbach-Rheydt junction – just like his pursuers.
There the speeder duly stopped at a red traffic light - and this time the man did not escape the control.
Maserati driver races away from police – driver's license and vehicle confiscated
As it turned out, there was a reason for the flight: the 32-year-old had already had his driver's license revoked.
Therefore, the officials confiscated not only his driver's license, but also the Maserati.
The speeder now faces a criminal complaint on suspicion of driving without a license and on suspicion of illegal motor vehicle racing
