Dramatic ruling:
The federal court in the United States ruled yesterday (Monday) that the sites Israel TV, Sdarot TV and Israeli TV are illegal.
At the same time, the sites were awarded $ 7.65 million in compensation from each of the pirate bodies for copyright infringement.
Also, an immediate federal order was issued to US ISPs to block access to the pirated web servers.
The rights holders of the Israeli content, including Hot Yes, Charlton, United King and other media outlets, filed the lawsuit last February against the pirated sites that broadcast Israeli content abroad illegally.
The order prohibits any American company from providing services to those sites.
Among other things, U.S. rulings can set a precedent that other countries will rely on, as U.S. rulings affect most of the Western world.
Against the pirate sites, including Israel.tv and Israeli-tv, a complaint was also filed with the London Police by the MPAA in Europe (the American Film Association which unites copyright and fights the pirate market).
