Look at the sky: Next week - a partial lunar eclipse in Israel
If you want to watch the eclipse, you will have to get up early in the morning - and you will only have a quarter of an hour.
At its peak the eclipse will cover a small portion of the moon.

The first significant astronomical event of 2022 will happen on May 16: Whoever looks west at 05:28 in the morning, just above the horizon, to predict a partial lunar eclipse - a situation where the earth casts a shadow on the moon and hides it from our eyes.
Unfortunately, the lunar eclipse in Israel will last only about a quarter of an hour.
"In fact, from Israel they will not see much," says Dr. Yigal Fattal, director of the Givatayim Observatory, in a conversation with Walla!

.
The moon will
set at 5:42
p.m.
So in Israel they will only see the beginning of the shadow phase for about a quarter of an hour.
"" There is an earlier phase that starts at 4:32.
"But this is a stage where the earth does not hide all the sun from the moon, so it is very difficult to see it with the naked eye," Dr. Fattal added.
A lunar eclipse occurs only in a full moon, with the sun, moon, and earth between them aligned in a column.
