Did a candidate cheat in the police commissioner competition?

The tests by the professional access route are suspended due to suspicions of cheating between a candidate and the president of the jury, we learned on Tuesday from a police source.

The investigators suspect the candidate, a commanding officer, of having "benefited from information" on the tests transmitted by Inspector General Frédéric Dupuch, currently in office in the office of the Director General of the National Police (DGPN), Frédéric Veaux.

He was heard in free hearing and is the subject of a search.

The candidate was also heard in a free audition.

The IGPN in charge of the investigation

The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) is in charge of the investigation.

It will have to determine “the extent of the fraud”, specified the source, according to which the hypothesis of an “individual fraud” is favored at this stage.

In the meantime, the Director General of the National Police "has taken the decision to temporarily suspend the tests".

They “will resume as soon as possible as soon as the conditions are met”, specifies the press release from the DGPN.

The competition by the professional access route concerns about fifteen admitted each year.

The other two entrance examinations, internal and external, are not concerned by the investigation.

Frédéric Dupuch was notably director of proximity security for the Paris conurbation (DSPAP).

He had been sacked after the violence that occurred during the Yellow Vests protests in 2019.
