Death of Yvette, 92, suffocated by a madeleine: the ex-firefighter suspected of having killed her acquitted

The jury acquitted the former firefighter, suspected of having suffocated a nonagenarian with madeleines.


Cheers of relief Friday evening in the courtroom of the Assize Court of Indre-et-Loire in Tours.

Thirty relatives of Alain J. kiss at the statement of his acquittal.

At the end of the afternoon, they had however trembled when the prosecutor had requested 20 years in prison.

“It's a surprise and a disappointment.

There was a sufficient body of evidence to convict the accused”, reacts Me Loïc Cabioch, the lawyer for the relatives of Yvette Brisset, 92, who died suffocated in her bed by pieces of madeleine stuck in her throat in May 2019.
