In his new repertoire, the Hebrew theater places great emphasis, and some would say too great, on musicals.
This became clear at a press conference held today (Tuesday) in Tel Aviv, in which the theater presented the new season that will air during 2022 and 2023.
The theater will stage the musical "Beautiful" for the first time in Israel, which took to the Broadway and West End stages, and tells the story of the life of the iconic Jewish singer-songwriter Carol King, and includes her hits that will appear in the original language.
This musical joins "Fiddler on the Roof" directed and starring Nathan Datner which will be released in June, and "Sounds of Music" which will be released at the end of the year - as first published in Walla!
culture.
Another musical that will be performed is "The Woman with Me", directed by theater director Gadi Tzedaka, which will be based on David Broza's hits, including "The Woman with Me", "Violets", "Will Be Good" and "Bedouin Love Song". ,

He will stage in the theater the musical "Packages from America", which will be based on his previous play and will be the first musical that Mittelpunkt has written since "Mami".
In addition, over the next year the new play he wrote, "My Political Year," a comedic drama about a citizenship teacher who decides to join politics, will be staged in the theater.
Mittelpunkt will also direct his plays "A Guide to the Traveler in Warsaw" and "Anda".
Sandra Sadeh, who is participating in the new version of the musical "Fiddler on the Roof", will play another role in the Hebrew theater when she plays the lead role in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Miss Daisy", written by Alfred Yuri translated by Daniel Lapin.
At the center of two plays will be legendary singers - Umm Kultoum, who will play Dikla in the musical "My Life - She is not Omri" directed by Tzedaka in July, and Edith Piaf who will be played again by Yonit Tovi in the play "Piaf" directed by Eli Bijawi.
These two performances will also be staged for the first time as part of a network of "Friends" clubs.
