Consumers can buy the
9 -euro monthly ticket from
Deutsche Bahn
from May 23
– provided that the Bundestag and Bundesrat approve the project this week.
This was reported by the German Press Agency (as of May 15).
The ticket is then available via the
DB Navigator app
and all other digital rail channels, as the group announced on Sunday, according to dpa.
"It will also be available at around 5,500 Deutsche Bahn ticket machines and in over 400 DB travel centers in train stations," it said.
With the 9-euro ticket, passengers should pay nine euros
can use local public transport nationwide
, in all cities and across all network borders.
The tickets should also be able to be bought online or at the counter from other transport companies.
According to dpa, many associations have already announced that they also want to start selling on May 23rd.
As the editorial network Germany (RND) also reported, the 9-euro ticket is to be sold at the weekend in many regions.
Interested parties can find out when the Munich Transport Company (MVG) wants to start advance sales here.
However, the validity of the tickets does not begin until June 1st.

Can the 9-euro ticket still fail?
The Bundestag should decide on the financing of the 9-euro monthly tickets on Thursday evening (May 19), reported dpa on Thursday afternoon.
The draft of the traffic light coalition envisages that the federal government provide, among other things, 2.5 billion euros to compensate for loss of income from transport providers.
The law also has to be approved by the Federal Council this Friday (May 20), after there had been calls from the federal states for more money for local public transport in general.
Criticism of the draft law by the traffic light groups comes from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, for example.
The Bundestag should also seal a tax cut for petrol and diesel on Thursday, which amounts to around 3.2 billion euros, according to the dpa report.
