Adir Miller is one of the funniest people in Israel.

Some will say: the funniest.

Some would argue: he was funnier in the past.

Some will say that his standup is less good than TV series, some will say the opposite.

There is never a full consensus when it comes to humor.

And yet, bottom line, when the average Israeli is asked to name one or two Israeli comedians, the name "Mighty Miller" will naturally pop up.

The Israeli public has very few more agreed-upon truths.

Very few talents are more identified with their work body.

Miller's popularity is enormous, but not only.

Even someone who personally does not connect to Miller's humor can appreciate the consistent talent and success with which Miller has built his career.

In a divided country full of internal and external conflicts like Israel, this is quite a bit.

Much has already been written about the series "Miller Junction" from the school of the comedian from Givatayim.

Many more sharpened and less honed TV critics did not spare their tribe from the successful series of Miller and Rainbow 12. The HM also proved at the gate Miller on the opening episode of the current season, which was difficult to watch. Fans on the networks have already begun to sober up from blind admiration. To quote the (excellent) commercial starring Ren Danker: This is not it.

"Miller Junction" was smeared for about an hour.

About one minute of it was funny

Yesterday, in one of the strangest messages ever sent to a cultural journalist in Israel, Keshet 12's spokesperson department announced that Adir Miller wants to end the series - but the channel's management refuses to make its decision.

"Miller stated to the channel's senior executives that he feels this is the right time to end the series. At the same time, in light of the series' success, the channel is trying to change Adir's decision and persuade him to continue for another season," the statement said.

The announcement also quotes a joint response from Keshet CEO Avi Nir and Channel 12 director Hilik Sharir, according to which "we announced to Adir unilaterally through the usual channels that we do not accept his decision and that this is not the last season of Miller Junction." Keshet presents Miller as a knight trying to retire at the peak, in order to identify the public's reaction to the move.Assuming that Miller's fans will "shoot" him, Miller will "agree" to do another season.

The question is whether this is really what he wants to do.

It may be that Adir Miller, an educated student of the comedy world, knows that the harsh reviews were not written by bad and narrow-minded zealots.

He, too, knows that the level of writing of "Miller Junction" is declining from a moment to Dudley.

The characters are not baked, the plots are unfounded and except for a few moments of light (usually starring him), the series is simply unsavory.

Unsustainable.

At the end, it is he who appears on the screen.

Is the one who signed the credit.

In my review of last season's premiere episode I wrote that "despite the success, it's hard to believe this is the show Adir Miller dreamed of doing," and it's clearer to me today than ever.

If Miller has the option to do a better comedy - in a TV or other format - Rainbow should release him and let him do it.

That's how it is when you love, isn't it?

But despite the nice words about "family", Keshet is a business, and Adir Miller is one of the most productive workers in the factory.

It is said that Avi Nir is a TV genius, but when you look at his company's broadcast schedule, it's sometimes hard to believe that he even likes TV.

The reference request seeks to portray Miller as saviors using an unstoppable PR machine, but in practice the channel people do a great injustice to their loyal talent. Whether Miller's decision to end the show is a result of material fatigue, a sense of exhaustion or a desire to open a new page This creative freedom in grace. And anyway, if he feels he needs to close the basta, it should be respected. Rainbow, release Miller. Great, fight for your legacy.
