This week, KTM's super-precision 1290 models were added to the edge of the pyramid of multi-pan motorcycle offerings in Israel.

A pair of motorcycles that are unique in the category is due to the fact that they were originally designed as 'Nike' edge motorcycles and did not become them after changing the 'Superbike' models of the same brand.

The modern third-generation super-precision family has for two years now included two models, the sporty and extreme brother, the 1290 Super-precision R and the twin with the more touring preferences, the GT.

Both are in fact built on almost identical assemblies, including a monstrous 1,301 cc V-twin engine that produces about 180 hp and over 14 kg, but differs in ergonomics, riding position and other subtleties that give each of them its intended purpose.

KTM launches its new adventures in Israel

DLB Motosport, an importer of KTM to Israel, has launched two new versions of these models, with the aim of not only making a real leap forward at the technological level, but also using it to appeal to a diverse and perhaps more pampered audience, in an already narrow world.

Both motorcycles get the most advanced generation of the semi-active suspension system from WP (the suspension maker owned by KTM) which knows how to offer several levels of damping and rigidity depending on the riding style and even depending on the number of riders and whether the motorcycle carries GT version. Rigid and restrained in sporty riding and also soft and pleasant to ride on cruises or on the bumpy roads of city centers.

And there is also a track package for shock absorbers at an additional price (Photo: manufacturer's website)

In the list of almost endless additions, there is also the option to purchase an extension to the suspension management software that also adds track modes, a personal mode where the rider can calibrate the suspensions as he saws and sat and even an automatic mode that "feels" the way and riding and regularly adjusts the suspension work.

Beyond all these, the two tools get a host of updates, like a 65-degree throttle (faster and shorter) in the R EVO, lighter R-rims in the GT model, large TFT screens and of course up-to-date color schemes.

All of these join a list of end equipment like mighty Rambo Stylema brakes, a host of electronic systems and controls for rider protection, 'Quick-Shifter' for raising and lowering gears, cruise controls, hand warmers and much more.

To enjoy all this goodness, you will be asked to pay NIS 154,990 for the 1290 Super-Precision R EVO and NIS 149,990 for the GT model.
