A man was shot dead Monday evening in a city north of Marseille.
A suspect was then arrested not far from the scene, police said on Tuesday.
"The alleged perpetrator was arrested," said a police source, confirming information from BFMTV.
"People fleeing on two wheels were seen by witnesses," according to a source familiar with the matter.
The homicide took place around 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a supermarket in the city of Castellas, in the 14th arrondissement.
The person killed was sitting in a van.
She was targeted several times.
The investigation was handed over to the federal police.
A scooter was found burned near the scene of the suspect's arrest.
This one would be about twenty years old, according to La Provence.
Ten people have been shot dead since the beginning of the year in the Bouches-du-Rhône, two others by stabbing, against the background of drug trafficking.
