The former Minister of Ecology is heard in Paris on charges of rape and sexual assault, the prosecution announced on Tuesday.
Several women had testified last November in the France 2 program "Special Envoy", accusing Nicolas Hulot of rape or sexual assault.
The ex-host had denied the facts reported, denouncing “despicable” assertions.
Shortly after the broadcast of the program, we learned that a woman had filed a complaint, at the end of November, against the ex-minister.
The facts denounced would have been committed when she was 16 years old, but they are now prescribed.
