Ford Focus, once an integral part of the family car landscape in Israel, has almost disappeared from the local market after the reputation of its third generation.

But the company is determined to stay in the game and after driving its new generation, it certainly had the tools to do so.

However, changes in air pollution standards and the need to reduce pollutant emissions have led to a change in the mix of power units of the model and along with its facelift it is adding new instrumentation along the way.

Externally the differences are concentrated in the headlights which also switched to LED and grille lighting in a more pronounced look.

In the cabin, the main innovation is a 12.3-inch digital dashboard that will come as standard in both trim levels, as well as an option to upgrade the multimedia screen from 8 to 13.2 inches for NIS 3,000.

The multimedia system also supports Android and Apple wirelessly as well as wireless charging for mobile as standard.

Also on the equipment list: an electric trunk opening in the "Torre", its station wagon configuration that also includes an easy-to-clean rubber floor and a lower plastic compartment for storing equipment that you don't want to soil the trunk.

The sporty-looking ST Line version also has heated front seats, red calipers and the ST Line X trim level also has 18-inch rims (17 in the standard version) and a panoramic sunroof.



Safety systems include automatic braking, lane departure correction including lane center maintenance, adaptive cruise control, assistance in steering in an evasive action from a collision, automatic light control and driver fatigue warning.

Also the mykey system that allows you to limit the speed of travel and also the maximum volume in the system.

Beneath the hood hides the additional shift in focus.

Its 182-horsepower supercharged 1.5-liter engine gives way to a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 155 hp and 24.5 kg (identical to the 1.5-liter engine).

Also avoid a 48-volt electrical auxiliary system that will allow the extensions of engine bleeding to be extended while supporting the operation of the electrical accessories in the cabin.

A dual-clutch gearbox is attached to the engine.

Despite the unsuccessful past experience with it, Ford is back to making use of this type of box.

This time it has 7 transmission ratios and with wet clutches.



The use of a gearbox allows the Focus to maintain the same performance as the more powerful engine despite the reduction in power.

The hatchback versions will accelerate to 100 km / h in 8.4 seconds while the station wagon will add two tenths and accelerate in 8.6 seconds.

In existing lines also in the price line of the car, we are already used to seeing price increases whether in jumps or in a slow crawl up with each presentation of an update to the new cars.



In the case of Focus, there is none.

The prices of the remake remained the same as those of the pre-facelift model.

That means from NIS 131,900 for ST Line, for NIS 133,900 for the Active X (hatchback), NIS 137,900 for the Active Tourer (station wagon) and up to NIS 143,900 for the equipped ST Line X.

To all these versions you can add the large multimedia system at a cost of NIS 3,000.
