Aldi Süd has been offering the option of charging electric cars for free since 2015.
It will be over in a few days.
After all, charging will continue to be possible very cheaply.
The charging stations offered by retail stores is an ingenious concept.
Electric car drivers are attracted by the fact that they can charge their vehicle while shopping.
And the providers benefit from this, since the customers stay longer in the store and they also come more often.
For a long time, charging was even completely free of charge, but many providers are gradually making it chargeable - including Aldi Süd.
Several portals report, including
efahrer.com
, that the discounter will introduce a payment system at the charging stations for electric cars in June.
The good news is that charging will be very cheap.
Aldi Süd: This is how much electricity for electric cars will cost from June
From June, charging at charging stations at Aldi Süd will be priced as follows:
39 cents
per kilowatt hour at fast charging stations
29 cents
per kilowatt hour at normal charging stations
Payment is made directly at the charging station using an EC card, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Compared to other providers, Aldi Süd is one of the cheapest.
If you charge your electric car at a Stadtwerke München charging station, for example, you have to pay
49 cents per kilowatt hour
– and that at the normal charging station.
Charging stations at Aldi Süd are not tied to the opening hours of the branches
With the introduction of chargeable charging stations
, the maximum charging time of one hour no longer applies
.
In addition, drivers of electric cars can also charge outside of the opening hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. – including on Sundays and public holidays.
In some branches it should even be possible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
