The trophy, sculpted as a crystal microphone, was sold at auction on Facebook with the aim of buying with the money raised three UAVs for the Ukrainian army, Reuters reported. Ukrainian and Russian forces make extensive use of UAVs, both as weapons and as spy planes.

The sale began at the same time as the band's appearance at a fundraising show held by the band in Berlin.

Its purpose was to raise, among other things, money for medical care.

During the show, the founder of the Kalush band, rapper Ola Psyuk, appealed to the audience not to get used to the war that resulted in the deaths of thousands.

The war also forced more than 14 million people to flee their homes following the Russian invasion that began in late February and much destruction in the country.

"I think it should be in the front pages all the time, until peace comes," Psiuk said.

As you may recall, after the band performed the Eurovision song, the band's lead singer Kalush Orchestra shouted: "Europe, help Ukraine, help Mariupol now!".

After their victory, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky wrote on Instagram: "Our courage impresses the world, our music conquers Europe! I am sure our victory chord in battle against the enemy is not far away."

In another interview, we asked the band if in case of a win they believe that Ukraine in 2023 will be in a position where it can host the competition.

Psyuk said: "We have great hope that we can fully rebuild our country, and that we can invite you all to our wonderful country, and that you will all want to come."
