The maximum speed allowed with a mobile home depends on various factors.
In this article you will learn how fast you can travel with it.
If you are traveling in a mobile home for the first time, you will have several questions.
One of them, which many motorists initially ask themselves, is: How fast can I actually drive with the mobile home?
After all, these are much larger vehicles than smaller cars.
The question of the speed limit is therefore obvious.
Speed limits with the mobile home: You can be on the road as fast as you like
The maximum permitted speed with a mobile home depends on a number of factors.
Of course, the main thing is which road you are on.
Logically, the general or signposted speed limits apply within built-up areas.
But how does it look on country roads and the motorway?
The total weight of the vehicle also plays a role.
Motorhome speed limits are as follows:
Mobile homes with a
permissible total weight of
up to 3.5 tons :
Outside built-up areas / country roads:
maximum 100 km/h
On motorways and motor roads:
no general speed limit
Mobile homes with
between 3.5 and 7.5 tons
gross vehicle weight:
Outside built-up areas / country roads:
maximum 80 km/h
On motorways and expressways:
maximum 100 km/h
Mobile homes with a
permissible total weight
of more than 7.5 tons :

You only have to worry about speed limits if your vehicle weighs more than 3.5 tons.
In principle, however, it is always advisable to only drive as fast as you feel safe on the road.
Even if it is a mobile home with a gross vehicle weight of less than 3.5 tons, the vehicle is larger than a normal car.
It therefore takes a certain amount of time to get used to before you can safely maneuver the mobile home on the streets in and out of town.
