A professional committee of the Public Broadcasting Corporation here will select Israel's next representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, after years of the process being done by reality shows - a corporation here announced today (Sunday).
The committee will consist of nine members, and will include a representative of the corporation alongside factors in the music industry.
It will include the director of the corporation's music stations, two music editors, two professional representatives from the corporation's television division, as well as four external representatives from the world of culture and music.
"The committee will examine the names of prominent sea singers, who are experienced in live performances in front of a large and leading audience.
After the selection of the candidate, the process of selecting the song will begin - which has not yet been detailed in the corporation.

Last year, the "X Factor for Eurovision" program selected the Israeli representative for the competition, after for several years the process was done on Keshet's "Next Eurovision Star" program.
As you may recall, this year Israel was represented by Michael Ben David, who failed to qualify for the semifinals - Israel's first time since 2014.
