It is a vast police operation which takes place this Tuesday in the middle of the agents of French football players and at the headquarters of two Ligue 1 clubs (Saint-Étienne will play in L2 next season).
According to concordant sources, searches were thus underway in Angers (Maine-et-Loire) and Saint-Étienne (Loire) in order to seize financial and administrative documents.
Ranked respectively in 14th and 18th place in the last championship, these two clubs are suspected of engaging in occult practices in connection with at least three players' agents.
The latter have been placed in police custody since this morning in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) in the premises of the central service for races and games (SCCJ).
Information confirmed by the Bobigny prosecutor's office (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Some of these agents, unlicensed, would be targeted by suspicions of illegal exercise of the profession in the context of player transfers and abuse of corporate assets.
They would evolve at the confluence of the world of football and organized crime.
Thanks to the net carried out on Tuesday and the searches at the headquarters of SCO Angers and AS Saint-Étienne, the investigators are seeking to trace financial flows which would irrigate possible illegal activities.
