Statica and Bat El Bao, too: Countless songs of pride are good news for all of us
The standing of the most successful singers alongside the proud community is good for society in Israel, and good for themselves as well: this is how Israeli pop gets a chance to dare to finally go a little further.
Still, in the last annual collection, the queer envelope seems to be much fresher and more interesting than the young hitchhikers

Israeli pop is, in general, astonishingly conservative and painfully banal.
Among rappers celebrating barbecues and singers I hire to renew the national anthem, it is rare to see any sign of rebelliousness, mischief or just plain impudence.
We wrote recently about the character crisis of local pop lately, and without a doubt: this is a discouraging matter.
And here, there is one month in the year where it is different - Pride Month.
Suddenly, everyone remembers how much fun it is to dare to go (a little) further than usual, and celebrate with an audience that is thirsty for interest.
What used to end with one song in half a wink, today is already a flood: all the big pop stars want their own song to come to the Pride parties, and the heavier - the better.
Static and Ben El, Noa Kirl, Lake Bohbot, Nasreen, Nono - these are just the standout names of the year.
If we go back in the last decade, we will find that there is hardly a young singer or pop singer who respects himself without a song for Pride Month, from Omar Adam through Ella Lee and Eden Hasson to Eden Ben Zaken.

Adan Ben Zaken and Nono have something important that sets them apart from everyone else: character

The standing of the successful singers in Israel alongside the proud community is first and foremost a positive and never self-evident social development.
It's good for Israeli society, and yes - it's also good for these singers, who take the opportunity to dare a little more, both in the song and in the clip.
This is a real celebration: suddenly all the good students become a little more naughty.
Suddenly Static and Ben El can become statics and Bat El, Noa Kirl can be a trill trella and sing a chorus with a Hebrew mistake and a comedian yelling at her, Lake Bohbot can give a song that is all nonsense, and nono - oh, for her all those winks are a normal day at work.
These two weeks are proof of how much fun it could have been here, if it had been a little less unusual.
It is worth noting that in most cases the queer shell is much more successful than the young hitchhikers, who turn pale next to it.
"Good News" has an excellent and addictive clip made by "The Simple", with a variety of special guests and confetti, but the truth is that it's just a song;
The best and most absorbing line in "Three Girls" does not belong at all to Kiral but to Gitit Fischer, which is the semi-drag act of Tutit ("Say Three Noah");
Dana International, perhaps the most sophisticated and sophisticated pop singer who has ever been in Israel, does a statistic school and Bat El, and she is the one who turns them into her side-kicks;
The songs of Nono and Nasreen, two very original singers in general, are also lukewarm in relation to the potential and the clips.
What it means?
Especially since the icons of the proud community have become so big and beloved in their own right, that pop stars are the ones who take a ride on them - and not the other way around.
We talk about artists, clubs, lines of parties and network phenomena that play a significant part in Israeli pop culture, and correspond with everything around them.
The cases of "Three Girls" and "Good News" illustrate well how the production, the clip and the jokes around are actually the main course.
This collection will not generate success like "Tel Aviv" or "Queen of the Roses", and probably not like "Trilli Trella" - and that's fine.
Pop is not a long-term product, and enough that it makes the present moment happier.
In general, there are reasons to be optimistic: the flood of pride songs is proof that the date is important in the calendar of Israeli culture, that it is a way to reach a large audience, and that no one thinks it is dangerous for a career to express LGBT support.
