The situation is different with buses, which people have to use for work purposes and it is essential to guarantee the health and safety of these environments that are open to all ”, he observes.

Cases in those who had escaped the virus so far
With the increase in cases in recent days, the virus is probably reaching the last group of those who had escaped the infection so far, continues Parisi, commenting on the increase in cases that is recently being recorded in Italy.
“It is possible that the new Omicron sub-variants are also affecting the last reservoir of the people who have so far been saved;
reinfections have also greatly increased and we live in a situation in which people who probably fell ill in the first wave of Omicron could now be at risk ”.
In the last four days, Parisi continued, “the increase in Covid cases in Italy has stabilized at 60% per week: this is a good sign.
We hope that next week there will be no increases of more than 60% and that then the cases will return to decrease steadily ".
Currently, she noted, “cases are increasing and so are hospitalization rates.
We are observing in Italy a phenomenon seen in other European countries, in which there has been a rapid increase in cases, which then began to decrease.
The hope - the Nobel Prize winner pointed out - is that it will go the same way in Italy as in other European countries, in which cases have increased for a while and then decreased ”.
The current one “is a situation in which it is difficult to understand what is happening.
