During the search of his home, the gendarmes discovered twenty-seven pairs of glasses, twenty-one of which could correspond to those stolen in the Jura.
The suspect is taken into custody but denies any involvement in the theft.
"These explanations are insufficient to justify the presence of these objects at his home," said a source close to the case.
The criminal record of this woman is clean and the Romanian authorities know of no connection with the underworld.
His lawyer, Me Tarek Koraitem, does not wish to comment on this file still in the hands of an investigating judge.
“Romanian criminal groups are opportunistic.
They specialize in stealing cargo, agricultural tractors, stealing from store shelves and commenting on burglaries in homes and shops.
They are generally formed around a person or a core of Romanians who have already lived or worked in Western Europe,” the central office for the fight against itinerant delinquency (OCLDI) specifies in a note.

When these teams are installed in Île-de-France, they are able to travel several hundred kilometers to commit thefts before returning to their homes.
The stolen goods are then sold abroad.
In general, they leave by car or by bus towards the east and the stolen objects are resold in Romania or Moldova.
Opticians are particularly targeted by international thieves who carry out raids throughout the country.
They are also targeted by gangs from Peru, Chile and/or Montenegro.
