Probably hardly necessary: advertising for the 9-euro ticket

Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) was satisfied with the development of the nine-euro ticket, but at the same time ruled out a continuation of this cheap offer.
"It's not possible in the long term," said the minister on Thursday RTL / ntv.
"Because the ticket costs over a billion euros a month."
The measure, which is limited to three months, must be evaluated.
Wissing said there was a need to discuss with the federal states how bus and train services could be improved.
Above all, the countries insist on more money for their infrastructure.
Basically, the FDP man is happy “that the measure is so well received and so well received”.
The ticket exceeded the expectations of many.
"Many federal states didn't even want the ticket and now they don't want to get rid of it anymore," said Wissing.
The nine-euro ticket for local transport is available from June to August.
During this period, citizens can use local transport nationwide for nine euros a month.
The measure is part of the government's relief package.
Many parties have already called for an extension of the ticket or a permanently cheap solution for local transport, for example from the Greens and the SPD.
Environmental organizations also rely on a permanent cheap ticket.
The funds required for this are well invested - especially since the state spends many billions a year on subsidizing company cars, the commuter allowance or diesel fuel.
The head of the Federal Association of Consumer Centers (vzbv), Jutta Gurkmann, believes that the burden on citizens should be further relieved after August because energy prices are still high.
She is therefore also calling for a connection offer for the 9-euro tickets in nationwide local transport.
Gurkmann proposes an easy-to-book monthly ticket for all buses and trains in local transport for a monthly price of 29 euros, i.e. around one euro per day.
"That would relieve everyone in the price crisis, but especially households with little money, and also give the necessary traffic turnaround more impetus."
