In the last course before the network begins its whining of death: the service is expected to provide users with a host of new features, such as the ability to check how many watched their stories, follow close friends and more • Still the fifth largest social network in the world

In another attempt to recreate its big days, Snapchat is considering launching a paid subscription service called "Snapchat Plus".

The product is currently in internal testing stages, and if and when it is offered to the general public - it will give users a variety of new options, such as tagging their "best friend" (wait, won't that offend all the other friends?);

See what their friends have been doing on the app in the last 24 hours;

Make changes to icons;

And most importantly - to see who and how many exactly watched their stories, because in a nutshell - this is what everyone really wants to know.

Snapshot Plus users will even be able to show off a small star that will appear next to their name in the app, and the premium subscription price is expected to be about $ 50 a year.

All of this information, accompanied by screenshots, was revealed by app researcher Alessandro Fluzi (who apparently backed up from within), but the confirmation was also received from Snapshot itself: We can serve our community for the best, "Liz Markman, a spokeswoman for Snap, told technology site The Verge, also acknowledging that Snapshot Plus does exist and is being tested by the company.

last try?

Snapshot was launched in 2011 under the name Picaboo, and received its current name a year later.

In 2014 it was reported that about 40% of teens in the US used the light social app on a daily basis, and the gimmick of photos and messages displayed on screen shortly before they disappeared captivated the world’s youth.

However, in the following years the popularity of the app waned, with competitors like Instagram and Tiktok gaining momentum.

Although Snapshot reported nearly half a billion users this year - making it the fifth largest social network in the world in this index after Facebook, Instagram, TickTock and Twitter - its shares have recently fallen more than 30%.

No doubt she is rethinking a route, but will the subscription service be what will save her?

time will tell.
