Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Patek Philippe… The epidemic of violent thefts of luxury watches in the Nice region (Alpes-Maritimes) should stop, at least temporarily.
After several months of investigation, the officers of the judicial police (PJ) imprisoned the presumed head of a very organized network of receivers of these tocantes which can reach several hundred thousand euros, as well as five other people suspected of participating to this traffic.
Indicted for "criminal association", "concealment of theft in an organized gang" and "laundering", they incur ten years of imprisonment.
Two Belgian watchmakers are also under a European arrest warrant.
