Marseille shaken by a road drama.
During the night of this Sunday to Monday, a 5-year-old child lost his life after an accident which occurred on the A55 motorway, at the level of the Treize-Vents tunnel, near the exit to Fos-sur- Sea, says France Bleu.
The little boy was in his 31-year-old mother's car when she hit a wall in a very violent shock around midnight.
According to France 3, the child was thrown more than 150 m from the vehicle.
Child died when paramedics arrived
The young victim was dead when the Marseille firefighters arrived, reports France Bleu.
A first person, a sailor in civilian clothes, had tried to perform cardiac massage, in vain.
The boy's mother is unhurt, but in shock.
This is not the first time that the A55 motorway has been the scene of a road accident.
Last year, a double road accident took place near the Treize-Vents tunnel.
A first shock had taken place between two cars, then a second shortly after between a heavy goods vehicle and another vehicle, the truck ending up lying on the road, then reported La Provence.
