Spanish opera singer and conductor Placido Domingo will return to perform in Israel, which will take place on September 4 at the Menora Hall in Tel Aviv.
He will perform with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eugene Cohen.
The 81-year-old Domingo is a Grammy winner, and is considered one of the greatest opera singers of all time.
He has performed thousands of times on stages around the world in several languages, participated in musical films and was a member of the three tenor ensemble with Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carrers.
In addition, he served as CEO of the Washington Opera and was one of the founders of the Los Angeles Opera, where he also served as artistic advisor and later CEO.
In August 2019, allegations were first published in the AP that Domingo had sexually harassed a number of women who had worked with him for more than 30 years.
Later, additional testimonies were published that accumulated to 20 women.
Following the publications, Domigno resigned from his position as general manager of the Los Angeles Opera. "The U.S. Guild of Musicians also conducted an independent investigation that was not made public, but according to the AP investigators found 27 women and men who claimed to have been harassed by Domingo or witnessed his inappropriate behavior.
Just six months after the allegations were published, in February 2020, Domingo apologized to anyone who was harmed by him - but denied the allegations and did not take real responsibility.
"I have never behaved aggressively towards anyone, and I have never done anything to stop or harm someone's career in any way."
