Justice is passed and properly passed.

Jean-François Ricard, who heads the national anti-terrorist prosecutor's office, welcomes this morning the conditions in which it was returned in the file of the attacks of November 13, 2015.

“It is the victory of the rule of law”, he said this Thursday morning, questioned on franceinfo.

“Faced with acts that go beyond anything we can imagine, we must respond with justice, with the law.

That is exactly what this trial has demonstrated.”

Incompressible perpetuity for Salah Abdeslam

On November 13, 2015, a terrorist commando committed several attacks in Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis, at the Stade de France.

Suicide bombers blew themselves up.

Cafe terraces were the target of bursts of Kalashnikovs.

A shooting and a hostage-taking took place in the Bataclan performance hall.

130 people died and more than 400 were injured.

Responsibility for these attacks was claimed by Daesh, the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State (IS) group.

On Wednesday, 19 of the 20 defendants were convicted.

Sentences range from 2 years in prison to life imprisonment.

It is Salah Abdeslam who receives this heaviest sentence;

it can only be reassessed after thirty years behind bars, but the conditions for accommodation are difficult to meet.

The one whose brother blew himself up at the Comptoir Voltaire, near Place de la Nation, was not considered a last-minute recruit.

He also transported several terrorists.

He is considered a "co-author" by the courts.

“When Salah Abdeslam drops three human bombs at the Stade de France when he knows very well what is going to happen, he does not kill power of attorney at that time.

The sanction is not heavy above all, it is fair”, argues Jean-François Ricard.

Trial of the November 13, 2015 attacks: Salah Abdeslam "plays the nice little boy"

Returning to the trial, he explains that “there has never been such a trial in our history.

It was exceptional in its duration and scope.

The civil parties were able to express themselves, the defense lawyers were able to defend perfectly.

And above all we were able to get closer to the truth and better understand the unfolding of events.

The sentences are "slightly different" than those required "in a number of cases".

The fact that some victims do not want a second trial will be taken into account for a possible appeal.

Convicts also have the right to appeal.

Finally, Jean-François Ricard believes that such attacks, organized from abroad, are less likely, but “we must remain very vigilant”.

Jihadism "remains the number one threat", however the threat posed by "the ultra-right" requires being "particularly vigilant".

The latter is aimed at “institutional targets, the Jewish community, other communities.

It can also target mass actions and that is a concern we have”.

He warns that terrorism, in general, draws on social networks to fuel itself.

“It is one of the most important vectors.
