“Faced with acts that go beyond anything we can imagine, we must respond with justice, with the law.
That is exactly what this trial has demonstrated.”
Incompressible perpetuity for Salah Abdeslam
On November 13, 2015, a terrorist commando committed several attacks in Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis, at the Stade de France.
Suicide bombers blew themselves up.
Cafe terraces were the target of bursts of Kalashnikovs.
A shooting and a hostage-taking took place in the Bataclan performance hall.
130 people died and more than 400 were injured.
Responsibility for these attacks was claimed by Daesh, the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State (IS) group.
On Wednesday, 19 of the 20 defendants were convicted.
Sentences range from 2 years in prison to life imprisonment.
It is Salah Abdeslam who receives this heaviest sentence;
